Rockett Finance was built to make finance feel clearer, more personal and a whole lot less overwhelming.
Established in 2023 by founder Tara Rockett, RFS started with a simple mission: to build a brokerage that wasn’t just about getting a loan settled, but about educating, guiding and supporting clients towards property ownership, smarter lending decisions and long-term financial confidence.
Since then, Rockett Finance has grown into a multi-award recognised mortgage and finance brokerage, helping clients across the Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Australia-wide with home loans, refinancing, investment lending, commercial finance and asset finance.
In 2026, Senior Commercial and Asset Finance Broker, Scott Armitage, joined forces with Tara, bringing more than 25 years of finance experience and expanding RFS into its next chapter across business, commercial and asset lending.
Today, Rockett Finance is a growing team of brokers and support team who combine strategy with heart. We’re education-first, proudly down-to-earth and here to help you understand your options, make confident decisions and feel supported from first chat to settlement.

Tara Rockett
Founder & Senior Finance Broker
Hi, I’m Tara, founder of Rockett Finance and the senior Finance Broker behind RFS. I’m a 31-year-old, dog-loving, creative finance fanatic from a small town in Far North Queensland, now living on the sunny Sunshine Coast.
My finance journey started at 18, working my way up through the banking world at NAB and CBA before launching Rockett Finance in 2023. With no rich uncle, inheritance or leg-up, I’ve built my path from scratch, fully self-made and self-sourced.
By 20, I’d purchased my first property, and before 27, I’d purchased two more. That journey taught me firsthand how powerful the right lending strategy and structure can be; helping me build wealth, travel to 32 countries and eventually start this business by age 28.
I offer tailored lending solutions and easy-to-understand advice at every step of your lending journey. Whether you’re buying your first home, refinancing, investing, self-employed, building, or simply trying to work out what’s actually possible, I’m here to make finance feel clearer, more empowering and a whole lot less overwhelming.

Scott Armitage
Director & Senior Commercial & Asset Finance Broker
With more than 25 years of experience in the Australian finance industry, Scott brings serious lending knowledge, practical problem-solving and a relationship-first approach to Rockett Finance.
Scott has worked across a broad range of finance areas, including commercial property finance, business expansion funding, equipment and asset finance, SMSF lending, debtor finance and home and investment loans. Having worked both as a business owner and within corporate finance, Scott understands the real-world challenges faced by small and medium-sized businesses; not just the numbers on paper.
In March 2026, Scott joined forces with Tara and RFS to expand the business’s commercial and asset finance offering, helping clients access more tailored support across business, equipment, vehicle and commercial lending.
Scott is known for honest advice, strong industry knowledge and long-term client relationships. Whether you’re buying equipment, purchasing a commercial property, expanding your business or exploring a finance opportunity, Scott brings the experience to help guide the process.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him fishing, surfing, sampling the local craft brews or trying to fix one of the Coast’s most infamous golf slices.

Jess Donchi
Finance Broker
Jess brings 18 years of experience in the real estate industry, along with a lifelong passion for property, finance and helping people achieve their goals. With a strong interest in both home lending and asset finance, she loves finding lending solutions that genuinely make a difference to her clients’ lives.
Jess joined RFS in 2024 after completing her Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking. She has since become an accredited broker and commenced her MFAA Mentorship under Tara’s guidance.
Originally from coastal Victoria, Jess has also called Gladstone, Karratha and Perth home before returning to the Sunshine Coast in 2020. She and her family built their home in Yandina, where she originally met Tara, as her broker before Jess joined the team.
A proud mum of two older teenagers and wife to the owner of a local earthworks company, Jess enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, enjoying a wine or two. Her ability to connect with just about anyone is one of her greatest strengths.
Jess believes having the right people in your corner can be life-changing. For her, it is never about one transaction, but building lasting relationships and supporting clients through every stage of their property and finance journey.

Rockett Finance and our clients are incredibly fortunate to have Lucy building her career with us. Lucy has been part of Rockett Finance from the very beginning and is currently studying her Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking.
As our Broker Support Officer, Lucy’s role gives her the opportunity to continually strengthen her knowledge while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the industry. What she loves most about mortgage broking is that every day brings the chance to learn, grow and help clients achieve one of life’s biggest milestones; purchasing a home.

Backed by her Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, Chloe is known for her thoughtful analysis, clear communication and the care she puts into helping people feel confident and supported throughout their financial journey.
